About me

Daphne Pratt
MBACP – Relationship & Couples Psychotherapist, Systemic Practitioner, Fertility & IVF Counselling Specialist & Parenting Coach

Welcome to Daphne Pratt Counselling!

Hi, I’m Daphne – a qualified counselling professional with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, couples and families. I hold specialised qualifications in couples and relationship integrative therapy, enabling me to provide effective support for partners navigating challenges or seeking to strengthen their connection. My relationship work helps couples improve communication, rebuild trust, resolve conflicts, and rediscover intimacy in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

Beyond my couples work, I offer counselling for adults and young people facing various psychological and emotional difficulties, including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, anger issues, ADHD, low moods, self-harm, low self-esteem, stress, and feeling overwhelmed. My background in systemic family therapy and psychodynamic approaches informs my practice, and I’m also a qualified family mediator and parenting coach.

I’m committed to providing therapy that responds to each client’s unique needs. I bring particular sensitivity to cultural and racial issues that can affect individuals and relationships, helping clients navigate these complex dimensions of their experiences. As a parenting coach, I support parents in developing effective communication strategies with their children and managing the challenges of family life.

Whether you’re seeking support as an individual, with your partner, or for your family, I’m here to provide a confidential space where healing and positive change can happen. Thank you for considering Daphne Pratt Counselling for your therapy needs.

Therapy Process
Introductory Consultation

The first step is a free Introductory consultation by telephone which will give you the chance to outline the difficulties you want to address and to discuss the best way forward. We can talk about what you want from therapy and work out the best possible options to suit your individual needs. It’s friendly, informal and completely confidential.

To book your Introductory consultation click on the booking form below and selecting your preferred date and time. You will then receive a confirmation email. It’s an opportunity for you to ask any questions or discuss any concerns that you may have, and it doesn’t commit you to any further ongoing therapy, consultation, mediation, or coaching.

Session Plan

Following the introductory consultation, counselling and therapy sessions can be arranged weekly, fortnightly, or according to an alternative schedule that suits your needs. Sessions are 50 minutes long. Occasionally you may have at-home activities to support your progress.

The number of sessions will vary depending on your particular situation. We can discuss and decide together on the most appropriate duration for your therapy. You have the flexibility to book individual sessions or opt for a regular subscription.

Full Process

There is no fixed number of sessions, sometimes, fortnightly or monthly counselling sessions are more appropriate for a range of different reasons and again this can be discussed and agreed during the initial consultation. Often, after having weekly sessions and beginning to feel better, clients drop down to fortnightly appointments, then down to monthly appointments because they prefer a gradual end to their therapy. All this can be discussed and agreed so that your therapy exactly suits you as an individual.

Let’s Discuss

There are times when everyone experiences difficult, distressing feelings which interfere with everyday life and relationships, and confiding in friends or family members just doesn’t feel right. That’s when it can be helpful to talk things through with a completely neutral person who you know will be supportive and won’t make judgments about what you say.

Whether your problems are from the past, going on right now or impact upon your future, exploring the issues in a confidential place with an experienced, qualified counsellor can help to face challenges, make changes and move forward in the way that is right for you.

I know that it can be daunting to take the first steps towards making changes in your life; sometimes facing difficulties can feel distressing or frightening. But with a little courage and our support you really can begin to understand yourself and your difficulties with more clarity, recognise the things that are holding you back and explore different ways to make positive change happen.

Recognising that you could do with some support is the first step – it’s a strength in itself

Online Service

Fertility & IVF Counselling Specialist.

Hi, I’m Daphne – a qualified counselling professional now offering specialised fertility and IVF support services in Dubai.

Fertility Journey Support

With over two decades of experience, I provide compassionate counselling throughout every stage of your fertility journey. I understand that IVF and fertility treatments can be emotionally challenging, which is why I offer dedicated support:

  • Pre-IVF Counselling: Preparing emotionally for treatment, managing expectations, and addressing anxieties about the process
  • During Treatment: Coping strategies for the emotional rollercoaster of IVF cycles, hormone treatments, and uncertainty
  • Post-Treatment Support: Processing outcomes (whether successful or unsuccessful) and navigating the emotional aftermath

Supporting Couples Through Fertility Challenges

As a specialist in couples and relationship therapy, I provide a unique perspective for partners navigating fertility difficulties together. Fertility challenges can place significant strain on relationships, and I offer a safe space to:

  • Work through differing emotional responses to fertility treatments
  • Develop communication strategies specific to your fertility journey
  • Navigate decision-making around treatment options
  • Process grief and loss if treatments are unsuccessful
  • Strengthen your connection during this intensely personal experience

Culturally Sensitive Approach

I bring particular sensitivity to cultural considerations around fertility, family expectations, and parenthood that may affect individuals and couples in Dubai’s diverse community.

Professional & Confidential

All counselling sessions take place in a completely confidential environment. Pricing information is available upon enquiry, with options for both in-person and virtual appointments.

Whether you’re just beginning to consider fertility treatment or are well into your IVF journey, I’m here to provide the emotional support you need. Contact me today to learn how I can help you navigate this challenging but hopeful path.
